30. WORKSHOP: Creando redes entre los comunicadores científicos de los
países en desarrollo: la experiencia de SciDev.Net |
Dirigido por Barbara Keating, Katie Mantell y Luisa Massarani
SciDev.Net staff members will give three short presentations on
how delegates can get involved with SciDev.Net activities,
with discussions afterwards. From networking opportunities to
news writing and dissemination, the speakers will invite delegates
to become part of the SciDev.Net network. Delegates will also have
the opportunity to provide their ideas on the future direction of
SciDev.Net, including in particular the development of its e-guide
on science communication.
Breakdown of talk:
* Introduce SciDev.Net
* KM discusses news and how to become a contributor and help disseminate news. KM will also initiate discussion on expansion of SciDev.Net's news correspondents.
* LM discusses the Latin America network and its activities in capacity building in Latin American science communication. LM will highlight initiatives such as the workshops and ideas for a regional news-alert service.
* BK discusses the e-guide to science communication and how to increase its relevance to science communicators in developing countries.
* Question and answers.
